    Reviews:
    * If the idea of a minivan appeals to you, but you don't need the added bulk in your life, then the 2015 Mazda5 may just be the ticket. It offers plenty of passenger space, is maneuverable, has good cargo room behind the second row of seats, and decent fuel economy. Source: KBB.com
    * With sporty performance, pure athletic style and a roomy interior, the Mazda5 defies category labels while delivering on versatility. Mazda5's robust front fenders; sweeping, contoured side panels and athletic stance capture the illusion of motion while converging on a sloping roofline and sporty rear spoiler. The sleek rear end combines clean aerodynamic lines and smooth wraparound taillights for a polished look, and available 17-inch alloy wheels create a lasting impression. Rain-sensing windshield wipers, standard halogen headlights or available Xenon High-Intensity Discharge headlights, clear-lens halogen fog lights, and a convenient power moonroof are just some of the available features that round out Mazda5's dynamic form. The Mazda5 is anything but confining. With its surprisingly spacious, easy-to-configure interior, the Mazda5 is capable of juggling work, home and play. From its 44.4 cu ft of cargo space with the 50/50 3rd-row seatbacks folded down, to its independently folding 2nd- and 3rd-row seats that create a virtually flat cargo floor that's over 5 ft long, the Mazda5 is capable of accommodating everything from 6 passengers to 2 mountain bikes to a weekend of home improvement projects. Its extra-wide, easy-sliding rear doors and its ultra-light rear liftgate are designed to make loading and unloading incredibly convenient. Its 2.5L engine cranks out 157 horsepower, using variable valve timing to help increase power and torque without sacrificing fuel efficiency. Mazda5's engine can be paired with the precise-shifting 6-speed manual transmission on Sport models or, on Touring and Grand Touring models, the 5-speed Sport automatic with Adaptive Shift Logic and a manual shift mode for extra control. * Easy to park and maneuver; sharp handling; affordable price; easy third-row access; plenty of storage and cargo space for its size. Source: Edmunds

    • Excellent value in this reliable minivan

I love the flexibility the Mazda5 offers. The third row seating was perfect for shuttling kids and friends around, and with two rows of seats folded flat the hauling capacity is impressive. My wife couldn't believe we fit two 36" wide vanities and the 6' countertop all in one trip! I bought mine used after seeing an acquaintance flip the seats down to make room for a loom. It is the family's favorite car for road trips. The comfy middle row bucket seats recline and have enough leg room, even for growing teenage boys around 6 feet tall. Under seat storage, a fold out center console with cup holders and a large storage pocket, and charging outlet for electronic devices meant even long trips were a breeze. The cabin is a little noisier than other cars I've had in the past. You can tell it's not a luxury car but you can't beat the value. It doesn't have the zippiest pickup but does just fine for city or highway driving. Handles well in any weather condition, even lots of snow and ice when we visited Michigan's Upper Peninsula last winter. Has been very reliable, with no unexpected maintenance needs. Gas mileage is very good and the 14 gallon tank lets me go farther between fill ups so I always get the best price.
    • Durable Miniwagon

I've had this vehicle since March 2013. I always said I would never have a "mom van", but this was the most affordable of its kind. I refer to it as a miniwagon because it's not as tall as a van, but isn't really a wagon either. Buying in the early part of 2013, I was able to get a 2012 for a fair price that someone else had customized and bailed on with leather interior and second row DVD headrests. Handles like a sedan, but the fact that it's taller keeps me from rounding curves like crazy. I had 2 Kia's prior, both of which had Bluetooth, was kind of disappointed this one did not. Love that the second row is captain seats, was surprised to find both have small storage underneath. Third row is a bit cramped, but we don't use it often for passengers, more for storage. Having had this car for almost 7yrs I will definitely get another van. Nothing beats having the sliding doors, it's so convenient when getting your kids in/out.

My wife absolutely loved this vehicle and hated mine (2011 Mazda2, Standard Transmission). After she passed, I decided to retain her vehicle, in tribute to her and my girls, who did the homework and shopping for this car. I prefer a more sporty looking vehicle but, with the exception of what I consider "fair" gas mileage (20-28 mpg), this is an excellent vehicle. The crystal white pearl MICA exterior paint is absolutely the nicest looking white vehicle I have ever seen or owned. I have on rare occasions achieved 30+ mpg on exclusively highway driving but that is rare. The car has adequate power and does really great in the snow with standard traction features. I'm not crazy about the bucket seats in the second row. They are nice seats but I give up a passenger spot for access to "cramped" third road seating. Tires and brakes wear well and my average yearly maintenance costs (Dealer and self maintained) are $314.09 (5 full years, 2019 through May 2, is $144.14). That number includes all wear and tear items and mandatory state inspections. The sound system is great and visibility is very good. Workmanship is outstanding, interior and exterior. Climate control systems works great but heated air to the rear seats is not directly available while conditioned air is! With the third row seats folded down, storage is more than adequate for travel. With some maneuvering of the 2nd row, large items can be transported.
